Why Elsass Academy?

We are a family owned and operated business with over 50 years in the Austin Child Education Market.
We maintain a student-teacher ratio under the Daycare Licensing Department requirements.
Longevity of our staff shows their dedication to our program.
Because of our connection with Crenshaw's, children over three years of age receive free weekly gymnastic lessons.
Our facility is unique and specifically designed for child care, after school care and summer camps.
Our daycare includes both an indoor gym as well as large outdoor play areas.
Our unique curriculum is centered around preparing the children for elementary school both physically and mentally.

Summer Camps

This program is a wonderful way for your child to spend all or part of his/her summer. Children are treated to a wide variety of activities including basic tumbling (Crenshaw switch camp only), archery, free swim/swim lessons, arts & crafts, cooking, field games, specialized field trips and more. Counselors strive to fill each term with activities that help campers improve social and motor skills while creating great memories.

After School Care

During the school year, Elsass offers a great After School Care Program for children kindergarten through third grade which picks up at Eanes, Valley View, Forest Trail, and Cedar Creek Elementary Schools. Elsass Academy Westlake offers many activities for the afterschool student which include swimming (weather permitting), archery, arts and crafts, and organized outdoor/gym games. We also plan for opportunities during the afternoon schedule for the older students to work on and get assistance with homework. We strive to present our afterschool students with a balance of fun and challenging afternoon activities to round out their day!

Curriculum Enrichment:

Parents may also choose to compliment our afterschool schedule by adding any of the following extracurricular activities that take place on the Elsass campus: MusiKids vocal musicianship classes and keyboard, Fun with Art art classes with Ms. Barbara Conner.

School (EISD) Holidays:

Elsass provides care for afterschoolers on most days that EISD is closed or releases the students early. Early release days are provided at no extra charge as part of our program. Full-day activities on other holidays are available on a sign-up basis for an additional fee.

There will be no afterschool care at Elsass on the following dates: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday. In order to prepare for our summer camp programs, the last day of afterschool care at Elsass is the last day of school.

Preschool Program

Allowing children to grow and develop in a nurturing environment is one of the primary goals of our preschool program. By creating an atmosphere where children are free to explore their interests and develop their strengths, both physically and mentally, the children will be well prepared when the time comes to go to kindergarten. Listening skills, social interaction, participating in group instruction, enhancing motor skills and balance are just a few of the areas which our staff will concentrate on developing. Children rotate through several classrooms in the mornings with their homeroom group and participate in the following learning environments: Creative Play, Art, Math, Science, Reading & Language Readiness and Gym. Afternoons are a little more self-directed. Children wake up, snack, have ample outside playtime on our gorgeous oak covered playscape and then are allowed to explore the various learning centers or projects that are set up in their homerooms by their afternoon teachers.
